 was lurking about the arts.usage.english newsgroup when someone posted the above line (as well as some variations), asking what the correct (or best) syntax would be.

Well... I liked the flow of the line, which sounded much to me like the first line of a poem.

So, our contest is to create a poem (any style) and submit it in this thread. The winner will be determined by sending all the poems to Ariel Sharon, who select the winner. He really needs to lighten up.

Anyway, here is my entry:


"Down which hill did a small child roll?
The small one? The large one? The one with a vole?
But down the hill she came, with undetermined goal,
A small child smiling, rolling down the knoll."
