'Ode to my Radscorpion'

You
Are a carrion crawler
Thriving on the wastelands in my mind
You promise you will fill me up
But instead leave me stranded
On the warm sand
On the tumbleweed of this shattered ghosttown
You pick pointlessly at a long-gone villager
At a fleshless, meatless, yellowed bone
And i am too tired to slap your miserable claws away
Someday though i may regain my strength,
My sobriety, and my perception
And then do not be surprised when you find yourself
Knee-deep in radiation goo
You are a carrion crawler--You need me.
But i don't need you.
