Heartbroken hermits in hotels tonight
Are turning over to turn out the light
Regretting their whims
And repenting their sins
Wishing she'd take them back again
Teenagers living rebelliously
Kids falling in with bad company
Curing heartache and pain
With lines of cocaine
Wake up one morning and you've fried your brain
Families crying at hospital beds
Begging the doctors: "He's not really dead"
He's too young to die
And I'm too old to cry
Victims on stretchers are being rushed by
Chalk one more up to society
Magazines, talkshows, anxiety
We say we've tried
And now we're tired
Sit back and wait for someone else to decide
