Gliding Leaf

I recently did this for school and I thought it was pretty good. Tell me what y'all think!

Gliding Leaf

I plucked a leaf from the low branch of a tree
And held it aloft in my hand.
I stared at it for just a few moments
Before letting it go to the wind.

As I watched it soar I wondered how it felt,
That is supposing it could actually think.
It must be sad to be separated from the rest of its kin
And have no way to come back to its home.

But then I thought it might perhaps be glad
To be free from that restraining tree.
It was able to see what it would of the world and
Feel the breeze guide it through the air.

And though it may perish before the rest,
All brown and withered on the ground.
This will know what the others are blind to,
And the only one that ever flew.
