'Snake'

As she slithers down the street
Someone silent states
She has the eyes of a snake

(Scales are nothing
You can't weigh jealousy
Or wickedness, or greed)

As for her fangs, she bares
Them in a snarling retort,
In a knowing smirk
To those who would tear
Her tinted lips from her
Broken, beautiful face

And she is writhing,
And she is screaming,
And she is filled with the venom
She once drove into the veins
Of those she hated; Her evil
Returned upon her threefold

(All good deeds may go
Unrewarded but never does an evil
Escape the eyes of the Heavens)

As she slinks down the sewers
Searching a sudden solace
Someone somewhere snickers

She has the eyes of a snake.
