Summer

Here we go. A summer poem AND a true story:

Waiting throughout the hot summer
The pipes in the yard flooding bad
Estate agent, they promised a plumber
A month later no arrival, we're mad
The situation just couldn't be dumber
But there was no luck to be had
After ranting and raving from mother
The agent was looking quite sad
At last we got our two plumbers
From our pipes they pulled three tons of sand
Our pipes, they now link to the sewer
Our back yard doesn't flood all that bad
I'll enjoy the remainder of summer
Or at least what there's left to be had
