I thought that the nurse
Would do me no harm
Til i saw the 2 big needles
she wanted to stick in my arm
I cried and i begged,
i pleaded and i moaned,
'Just shut up and take it!'
My poor father groaned.
I stomped and i pouted
I half ran out of the room
But that nurse locked the door shut
And advance, proclaiming doom
The first shot she jabbed in my left arm
Well, it hardly hurt a bit
So when i saw the second coming
I wasn't really afraid of it
Well, was i in for a surprise
When that needle reached my skin
Although i screamed like a banshee
When she first stuck the needle in
The first five seconds i got to thinking
This pain is none too intense
After the next 20 seconds though,
I started to lose my sense
'Please,' i begged the nurse
'Please let this be through!'
But she continued to ignore me
As the pain just grew and grew
Finally it was over,
She released her hold on me
Slapped a band-aid on my bleeding arm
Said 'Go now!' and
'Be Free!'
Last night i couldn't sleep on my side
So i stayed awake instead
This morning i had a pain in my arm
And i've been walking like the living dead
So thank you, doctors everywhere
For that wonderful, wonderful shot
I'm sure someone is thankful for them
But at the moment, i am not.
